Harlem Globetrotters set nine world records

It all looks like just fun and games, but the Harlem Globetrotters can play a bit, too.

It all looks like just fun and games, but the Harlem Globetrotters can play a bit, too.

The Harlem Globetrotters set out to carve out a slice of history in San Antonio, Texas, during week, and they did.

Over and over again.

To prepare for their 2017 World Tour, the iconic traveling exhibition troupe team took a timeout for Guinness World Records Day.

Gathering on the home court of the NBA San Antonio Spurs, the Globetrotters broke nine basketball records, two of which they already held.

Since 2000, the Globetrotters have set 15 current Guinness World Records.

“We are the original trick shot artists, so it is great to reclaim our records and reestablish our dominance,” said Harlem Globetrotters star Big Easy Lofton.

Big Easy, Ant Atkinson, Cheese Chisholm and Zeus McClurkin were among the Globetrotters who set at least two records. Atkinson was a part of three records.

The Globetrotters were founded in 1926 and have played in more than  26,000 exhibition games in 122 countries and territories over the years.
