AFL player caught in porn scam

A young AFL player has reportedly had obscene images of himself placed on a pornographic website after being tricked into sending them.

The promising player is said to have sent the sexually explicit images via social media to a person he believed was a woman, according to News Corp Australia.

But it’s believed the person was a man who then posted the nude images and named the player on an X-rated website in the United States.

It is believed the man was lured with images exchanged over social media in what’s known as a “catfish” scam, where false identities are created on dating apps or other social media platforms.

Both the player and his AFL club are now seeking legal advice on how to have the images removed.

The club has also said they would not take any action against the player, deeming it a private matter.

They said the incident should serve as a warning to other players thinking of sharing explicit and private material online or via social media.
