The swimwear for Australia’s Rio Olympics’ swim team will feature a subtle pattern of small white boomerangs.

The mainly green suits with hints of gold were unveiled at Southport on the Gold Coast this morning.

Olympic swimmers Cameron McEvoy, Emma McKeon, Bronte Barrett and Jake Packard modelled the new look alongside divers Maddison Keeney and Dom Bedggood and water polo player Kelsey Wakefield.

McEvoy said the new uniform looks and feels great.

“I’ve been racing in a similar suit since the start of 2015 and so far I’ve had a pretty good personal track record with it, I really like the design on it as well,” he said.

“Usually we just race in a black one with the different coloured ‘x’ on the side.”

The suits also contain a message written along the inside stitching reading “I am ready”.

Australian Olympic team Chef de Mission Kitty Chiller said the suits had been extensively tested to ensure the team could perform at its best.

“Our athletes have been involved in the design process of these suits every step of the way, in focus groups and testing of the suits and fabrics,” she said.

Diver Maddison Keeney said she experienced a sense of pride when she wore the suit.

“The suit’s actually really comfortable and that’s really important because when I’m diving I want to be comfortable, I want to be ready, I don’t want to have to think about anything else other than my dive.”
