Dockers’ Fyfe to miss rest of home-and-away season

Fremantle Dockers star and Brownlow medal favourite Nat Fyfe will miss the remaining two weeks of the home-and-away season with a leg injury.

The midfielder, who was this week cleared of a rough conduct charge by the match review panel to keep him eligible for the Brownlow, will now sit out the Dockers’ matches against Melbourne and Port Adelaide in a bid to be fully fit for the finals.

Fyfe has been diagnosed with inflammation in his fibula, a condition known as perisotitis.

Fremantle’s general manager of football operations Chris Bond says the break should have Fyfe ready for a finals charge.

“Our medical advice is that Nat should be available for selection after a two-week break,” Bond said.

The Dockers are currently sitting two points clear of West Coast on top of the AFL ladder.
