Buddy’s five the difference against Giants

The Sydney Swans have maintained their unbeaten start to 2015 with a 21-point win over local rival Greater Western Sydney at the SCG.

In an exciting clash between two teams that entered the match undefeated, the Giants maintained pace with their more experienced neighbours for much of the match before losing 16.15 (111) to 12.18 (90).

A three-quarter-time lead of 38 points looked likely to be enough for the Swans, but a run of last-quarter goals got the margin back to 21 points before the Swans steadied.

Young gun Isaac Heeney was sensational in his third game, kicking four goals alongside Lance Franklin who kicked five, while young Giants midfielders Lachie Whitfield and Stephen Coniglio fought manfully.

More to come.
