The announcement was made on Friday morning, with Moss “stood aside” and “offered a new role” at the club.

Newly appointed technical director, Tony Walmsley, will fill in as head coach in an interim capacity for the remainder of the A-League season.

Mariners captain John Hutchinson will also take on the dual role of player-coach until the end of the season.

The decision to sack Moss is said to be part of a restructure at the club.

“The next phase of the Central Coast Mariners restructure will also include a fresh look at the operation of youth football that will be made evident in the near future with further statements,” the club statement read.

“The specifics of Hutchinson’s coaching contract are yet to be finalised but fans, media and members can be rest assured that the club captain will remain with the Mariners in a coaching capacity beyond this season.”
