‘Nothing pending’ on more charges: Titans boss

Gold Coast Titans boss Graham Annesley says there’s “nothing pending” on the prospect of further charges being laid against the NRL club’s players.

“I’ve heard all the rumours obviously but to the best of my knowledge, there is nothing pending,” he told Seven Network.

Remember the Titans: can they avoid the Gold Coast boneyard?

“The Crime and Corruption Commission, they don’t telegraph their punches … we have to sit back and see what happens.”

Five current Titans players were stood down this week after being charged with cocaine supply.

They include State of Origin stars Greg Bird and Dave Taylor, as well as winger Kalifa Faifai Loa, hooker Beau Falloon, and fringe first-grader Jamie Dowling.

All deny the charges.

Annesley was also asked about speculation Brisbane Broncos players could be dragged into the scandal surrounding the Titans.

“There are lots of rumours swirling around, most of them turn out to be not true,” he said on Wednesday.

“But, I have heard nothing officially I really can’t add anything to those rumours.”

On Tuesday the game’s governing NRL body stepped in, taking control of the club.

“We have got to get on with the job of making this club successful,” Annesley said.
