Snoozing baseball fan sues ESPN over comments

A man who was taunted for sleeping during a baseball game at Yankee Stadium in New York is suing two ESPN announcers for $10 million.

According to a New York Post reportAndrew Robert Rector has filed a lawsuit against the ESPN announcers for launching a “verbal crusade” against him. 

Rector was caught sleeping during a New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox baseball game, and was filmed by ESPN for several minutes with the announcers claiming it was inappropriate for him to be asleep.

The baseball fan has filed a $10 million defamation lawsuit Dan Shulman and John Kruk for using words against him like “stupor, fatty, unintelligent, stupid.”

Rector says that the verbal onslaughts crossed the line of sports reporting and had caused him emotional distress.
