Three men are under arrest after leading police on a high-speed chase in a Porsche which was allegedly stolen from the house of Hawthorn Hawks’ football player star Brendan Whitecross’s house.
AAP had earlier reported that the Porsche was allegedly taken from a home in Croydon, in Melbourne’s outer east on Tuesday morning by a group of men who fled after allegedly stealing car keys from the home and later returning to drive off in the Porsche.
Residents woke to the sound of a dog barking about 2am on Tuesday and saw two men running from their Croydon home.
The alleged offenders drove off in a getaway car before doing a u-turn and returning to the house where one of the men allegedly stole the $130,000 Porsche Macan.
The car was spotted in Dandenong before it was driven down the emergency lane of the Monash Freeway while being chased by police cars and a helicopter.
