The federal coalition could lose seven seats in Queensland, including that of Immigration Minister Peter Dutton, if an election were held now, a new poll shows.

And the latest Galaxy poll, published in Monday’s The Courier-Mail, shows the votes are going to Labor, not One Nation.

Labor’s primary vote has risen by two points to 33 per cent since last year’s election, while the Liberal National Party is stuck on 35 – well down from the 43 per cent it had at last year’s federal election.

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation, which is strongest in Queensland, has slipped from 18 per cent in February to 13 per cent, but is still above the 5.5 per cent it won at the election.

On a two-party preferred basis, the LNP and Labor are neck and neck at 50 per cent.

The swing against the government would be four per cent, according to Galaxy, meaning the government could lose seven seats.

That loss alone would be more than enough to see Opposition Leader Bill Shorten lead Labor into government.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is having issues with Queensland after Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk attacked him as “arrogant and disrespectful” on Sunday.

Both leaders were in Townsville on Monday for the commemorative service for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea.

The poll of 850 Queensland voters was taken on April 26 and 27.
