Eleven people have been rescued after their fishing charter boat overturned in Moreton Bay, east of Brisbane.

The boat left the Brisbane suburb of Manly early Wednesday morning, but all on board were tossed into the water about 6.00am, in the passage between Moreton and North Stradbroke islands.

Water Police said the 11 passengers and two crew were rescued, with some suffering from hypothermia.

One has chest pains and a back injury and has been flown to a Brisbane hospital for treatment.

The remaining 12 on board were taken to Stradbroke Island for treatment.

Acting Inspector Steve Hollands said all people had been accounted for.

“All passengers and crew have been recovered safely from the water,” he said.

“We have some information that one of the persons have ingested some sea water, and another one has chest pain and a back complaint.

“The matter will be investigated by the Brisbane Water Police.”

All have been taken to Stradbroke Island to be treated.
