Mystery bones found in Brisbane park dated by police

Police have released more information about human remains found in Brisbane’s Teneriffe Park earlier this year.
A jaw bone, leg bone and arm bones were discovered in the park by council workers after heavy rain in June.
Radio carbon dating has since been carried out on the remains, revealing the individual conclusively died before 1950.
Police said the results indicated it is most probable the person died sometime between 1800 and 1899.
The age and sex of the individual are yet to be determined.
Police are now referring a report to the coroner.
Brisbane historian Jack Sim previously told ABC News that the remains were unlikely to be from a home burial because even in Brisbane’s early days Teneriffe was considered an inner city suburb and formal graves were available.
