Giant hat spoils Queen’s view of Comm Games

The Queen has been seen looking rather unimpressed at a Commonwealth Games swimming event, with her view obscured by her lady-in-waiting’s giant green hat.

The 88-year-old monarch spent most of the afternoon trying to trying to improve her view of the men’s 50m and women’s 100m butterfly, according to a Daily Mail Australia report.

The Queen began to look dejected, sitting back in exasperation, as she struggled to see over the Honourable Annabel Alice Hoyer Whitehead’s hat.

Dame Whitehead has been a lady-in-waiting since the 1970s to royalty like Princess Margaret, before becoming Queen Elizabeth’s lady-in-waiting in 2002.

The Queen was in much higher spirits earlier in the day as she enjoyed England Vs Wales hockey game with an unobscured view.
