A baby rhino in a zoo in the United States has delivered a heart-warming start to 2017 with a clip showing her first encounter with snow.

Zookeepers at the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, Iowa, tossed the freshly fallen snow into the rhino enclosure to see how the three-month-old would react.

And, clearly, the baby rhino loved it, as curiosity turns to unbridled joy, racking up almost 100,000 views on YouTube.

The still nameless rhino is an eastern black, listed by the World Wildlife Fund as critically endangered, meaning fewer than 1000 exist both in zoos and the wild.
