Melbourne writer Van Badham’s TV tussle with Steve Price has sparked days of online abuse, with the columnist receiving a number of violent threats, including one that prayed for her death.

In a heated episode of ABC’s Monday instalment of Q&A, Mr Price labelled Ms Badham “hysterical” after the two clashed over the recent controversy involving Fairfax football writer Caroline Wilson.

Ms Badham said in a video posted on her Facebook page, Mr Price spoke over her 13 times and that he insulted and attempted to humiliate her with the sexist label.

And since, she has been a target of abuse following Mr Price trying to denigrate her opinions and demonise her.

“In the wake of how Steve Price has been acting since Q&A, this is the kind of feedback I’ve received on the internet,” Ms Badham said before reading aloud the comments.

“She needs a hole drilled in her *** so she can be carried like a bowling ball,” one wrote.

A separate commenter said they would “smack the b***h in the mouth,” while another went as far to say, “I pray for your death everyday.”

“This is what my week has been like thanks to the comments made by Steve Price,” Ms Badham concluded.

Mr Price stood by his Q&A comments in his regular appearance on The Project on Wednesday saying, “I think I accurately described how Van Badham was behaving.”

He denied his comments were motivated by Ms Badham’s gender.
