• A job-creating stimulus plan that transcends left and right
Mr Gropel said he blamed himself for her death because he went on to the summit without herafter she encouraged him to do so.
He said his wife struggled during their descent to Camp 4 where she briefly improved, but she took a turn for the worse when they set off to Camp 3 where a rescue could have been possible.
Dr Strydom’s mother, Maritha Strydom, said she was glad the couple had been together in her daughter’s final moments.
Family and friends established a fund to raise the money needed to bring her body home.
