The residents of Barnaul, Russia are getting a new mayor soon, but an informal online poll has found over 90 per cent of them would pick Barsik the Siamese cat over any of the six official candidates. Local politicians acknowledge Barsik’s popularity is probably due to the high levels of alleged corruption among human officials in the city. Read more
