The residents of Barnaul, Russia are getting a new mayor soon, but an informal online poll has found over 90 per cent of them would pick Barsik the Siamese cat over any of the six official candidates. A Zion church in Berlin has doubled its usual crowd by offering a special Star Wars-themed service. Around 500 people attended as the main Star Wars theme was played on the church’s organ and clips from the film played on the big screen. Read more

Jayne Winterham has happily eaten roast turkey and vegetables every day since 2000. The 60-year-old says she began the habit when her children moved out of home, and can’t imagine getting sick of roasts any time soon.
