Baby burned, beaten as man faces court
A 10-month old baby boy remains in a critical condition in an induced coma after he was allegedly severely beaten and burned by a man in Sydney’s west.
Paramedics called police to a Penrith home on Sunday afternoon where they treated the 10-month old for burns to his head, neck, chest and back, reportedly from hot water, as well as significant head and facial injuries.

The boy was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital where he remains in a critical condition in an induced coma.
A 23-year-old man, who is not the biological father of the child, was arrested at the home and charged with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm, police said.
He has been refused bail and will face Penrith Local Court on Monday.
