A Danish gun store owner faces a string of charges after police located 21 pieces of female genitals stored in his home freezer, South African police have said.

According to police, 58-year-old Peter Frederiksen, from the South African town of Bloemfontein, allegedly lured his female victims from neighbouring town Lesotho, sedating them before performing illegal operations.

They said Frederiksen was also wanted on firearms charges in Denmark.

According to the International Business Times, police officers from Free State provence arrived to the man’s house after a woman reported she was being attacked.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi told the Associated Press that the woman claimed she was drugged by the 58-year-old, and had her genitalia cut off, and was unable to defend herself.

During a search of the home, police confirmed they found 21 pieces of female genitalia  inside bags in a freezer, along with anaesthetic, surgical tools and a series of photos.

The woman who reported the crime was also said to be the suspect’s wife.

Frederiksen has been remanded in custody and faces sexual assault, intimidation and domestic violence charges.

He is due to appear in court next Monday for the hearing of his bail application.
