The new dating app for bacon lovers is here

A new smartphone application is matching fried breakfast lovers across the world, one bacon cut at a time.

Sizzl is pairing people based on their favourite category of cured pig, increasing the likeliness of the relationship blossoming into those three little words – I love bacon.

Developed by a US meat company, it sorts potential love interests based on their location and a poll of their favourite cut.

But unlike other apps that ask users to swipe for appreciation, a sizzl-meter cooks up tender ratings of love and matches people based on the similarity of assessments.

“With the launch of Sizzl, we’re thrilled to give our true bacon lovers the chance to find each other and potentially meet their soulmates, in life and in bacon,” Oscar Mayer marketing director Eric Dahmer said.

But as there is only an Apple version currently out, Android bacon lovers will have to sizzle their way to true love the old-fashioned way.

And remember, honesty is the best thing to base a relationship on.

“First off, we’re very sorry you had to deal with this,” the company FAQs state in response to a question asking what to do when someone on the app says they don’t like bacon.

“You can tap the three dots on their profile and report them by selecting ‘doesn’t love bacon’.”
