Police fear 29-year-old Adelaide man Daniel Hind has been murdered, declaring his disappearance a major crime.

Police and emergency service volunteers searched an area of the northern suburbs earlier in September in the hope of finding clues.

Mr Hind was last seen at the White Horse Inn at Bolivar on August 28, after leaving a friend’s house at Burton in Adelaide’s north.

In a statement on Monday, police said his credit card was used at the White Horse Inn at 11.39pm on the same evening but could not confirm who used the card.

Police said his phone and credit card had not been used recently and his family was worried for his welfare.

Detective Superintendent Des Bray said there were conflicting eyewitness accounts about who Mr Hind left with from the Burton address.

“The disappearance of Daniel Hind has been declared a major crime,” he said.

“We’ve got an open mind about who may be involved at this stage.

“It’s been made more difficult by the fact that we’ve got conflicting versions by people that should be able to report on events as they occurred and you would think those versions would be consistent but they are poles apart.”

Mr Hind is 185cm tall and has short, blond hair and blue eyes.

When last seen, Mr Hind was in a blue top with a red Adidas logo, grey Adidas track pants and a black-and-white beanie or bandana.

The last confirmed sighting of Mr Hind was at about 11.30pm the previous night at a friend’s home in Beadell Street at Burton, and he may have left that address in a dark coloured car either with a man or with two men and a woman named Sarah, police said.
