The former partner of Sydney Siege gunman Man Haron Monis has been committed to stand trial for the murder of Monis’ ex-wife.

Amirah Droudis, 36, is accused of murdering Noleen Pal, who was stabbed and set alight at a Werrington apartment block in Sydney’s west on April 21, 2013.

Ms Pal was the former wife of Monis, who took 18 people hostage inside the popular Lindt Cafe in Sydney’s CBD in December.

Monis had been charged with being an accessory to the 30-year-old Ms Pal’s alleged murder.

Inquest into Monis’ bail

Droudis did not enter a plea when her case was mentioned at Penrith Local Court on Monday.

Droudis was refused bail in December after a video in which she talked about terrorism was shown in court.

Although the defence argued that Droudis was simply used as a mouthpiece for Monis’ extremist views, Magistrate Henson found the views were her own and potentially “still operative.”

Man Haron Monis was on bail when he took 18 CBD workers hostage in Sydney’s Martin Place last year.

Hostages spent 16-and-a-half hours held captive inside the Lindt Chocolate store before police stormed the shop.

Barrister Katrina Dawson and Lindt shop manager Tori Johnson were killed, as was gunman Monis.

Both Droudis and Monis were charged in 2013 with sending cruel and offensive letters to the families of dead Australian soldiers.

Ms Droudis is scheduled for an arraignment on September 4.
