Earthquake strikes off PNG

A magnitude-6.9 earthquake has struck off Papua New Guinea, the United States Geological Survey says.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties caused by the earthquake, which was centred in the Pacific Ocean, 154km south of Rabaul at a depth of 85km.
No tsunami alert has been issued.
However, the USGS has warned people to expect aftershocks.
