A Polish prince living in the United Kingdom who called for UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage to engage him in a central London swordfight has had his offer declined.

Polish Prince Janek Zylinski of Ealing, UK, followed up with an offer of a TV debate, which has not been responded to.

The Prince pinpointed comments from Mr Farage about immigrants to the UK clogging up the M40 motorway.

“I’ve had enough of discrimination against Polish people in this country.

“The most idiotic example I have heard of has been Mr Nigel Farage blaming migrants for traffic jams on the M40.

“Enough is enough, Mr Farage.”

As a way of deciding who was right on the topic, Mr Zylinski offered a morning swordfight in Hyde Park, and failing that, a TV debate.

“I’d like us to meet in Hyde Park one morning with our swords and resolve this matter in a way that an 18th Century Polish aristocrat and an English gentleman would traditionally do,” Mr Zylinski said in a YouTube video.

“Are you up for it, Mr Farage?”

In a veiled challenge to Mr Farage’s bravery, or masculinity, he followed up with another offer.

“If your sword is a little bit rusty, Mr Farage, we can meet for a different kind of duel – a duel of words in a TV studio in the run-up to the elections,” he said.

Mr Farage’s party UKIP declined the challenge because he “doesn’t have a sword.”

“He’s trying to keep violence out of this election campaign,” the party said in a statement to the Independent.
