Baby dies of whooping cough in Perth

A four-week-old baby has died in Perth of whooping cough, authorities say.
The Princess Margaret Hospital confirmed a young child who was a patient at the hospital died of whooping cough, the ABC reports.
A Health Department spokesperson said the baby died on Tuesday.
The department confirmed it was the first whooping cough death in Western Australia since 2011.
