Veteran Labor MP Anthony Albanese has released the shortest and sassiest press release in the history of Australian politics, smiting his outgoing opponent with just one word: “Good”.

The comment from the Member for Graydler in Sydney followed the news that Sydney Airport Corporation chairman Max Moore-Wilton would be retiring in May.

The pair have a long-running feud over the building of a second Sydney airport, something that Mr Moore-Wilton vehemently opposed as the chairman of the current Sydney Airport.

Speaking in Parliament in 2013, the Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Transport accused Mr Moore-Wilton of an “enormous conflict of interest”.

He responded by threatening to sue Mr Albanese “within an inch of his life” if he repeated the comments outside of the House of Representatives.

According to Fairfax, dumbfounded Sydney Airport staff called Mr Albanese’s office, who confirmed the authenticity of the release.

Former NSW Premier Kristina Keneally weighed-in on Twitter, saying her release on Mr Moore-Wilton’s release would have said “about time”.
