Baby dies after being hit by forklift driven by his father
A nine-month-old boy has died in hospital after being hit by a forklift driven by his father in Geelong’s southeast.
The baby, who was struck on Saturday outside his father’s Moolap mechanic workshop, passed away at Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital on Thursday morning.
His family had maintained a bedside vigil for the boy since the tragic accident occurred around 8pm on Saturday.
It is understood the boy’s father was unable to see him crawling on the factory floor when he was hit by the vehicle.
