Libs: we can still win this thing
Victorian Premier Denis Napthine is confident the Liberals will win a second term in government, despite polls suggesting otherwise.
Dr Napthine said the general feeling seven days out from the election was similar to that in 2010.
• Labor still ahead in Vic polls
• What are political promises really worth?
• Victorian leaders face the public
“I believe that we are travelling very well,” he said today.
“Seven days out in 2010 the polls had the Labor party winning the election and on the day itself we won the election.
“I believe the mood is very similar this time.”
A Herald Sun/Galaxy poll released on Friday said Labor was maintaining a 52-48 per cent lead.
“The bookies get it wrong quite often,” Dr Napthine said.
