An Australian couple who fell in love after having a baby together through an anonymous sperm donation and IVF treatment is now fielding calls from Hollywood movie makers.

Shortly after their daughter Leila turned one, Aminah Hart tracked down and met sperm donor Scott Andersen.

After meeting, they soon fell in love.

The pair shared their story on ABC’s Australian Story program and since then the ABC has been flooded with requests from news outlets, magazines and film producers from around the world.

Ms Hart lost two newborn sons to a rare genetic condition transferred from mother to son, which resulted in the breakdown of two different relationships.

She decided to have a daughter as a single mother with the help of a sperm donor clinic, and one year after her daughter was born, decided to get in contact with Mr Andersen, who had elected to be contacted.

“I’d always had a curiosity about my own father,” Ms Hart told ABC’s Australian Story program this week.

“I thought that I would at some point go and try and track Leila’s father down. I wanted to sort of be able to tell her, her father was this person.”

After a courtship and romance, the family now live together on Mr Andersen’s Victorian cattle farm, with Ms Hart still in disbelief at her ‘luck’.

“I mean he’s such a loving partner and he’s such an amazing dad and who, who gets that? Who gets to have that from the kind of ruins of what went before?”
