Iran ‘shot down’ Israeli drone

Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard has claimed responsibility for downing an Israeli stealth drone over the Natanz uranium enrichment site in the country’s centre.

The Guard announced the news in a statement on their official website, sepahnews.com.

“A spy drone of the Zionist regime (Israel) was brought down by a missile…This stealth drone was trying to approach the Natanz nuclear zone,” the statement said.

“This act demonstrates a new adventurism by the Zionist regime…The Revolutionary Guard and the other armed forces reserve the right to respond to this act.”

The Natanz site is Iran’s main uranium enrichment installation, with more than 16,000 centrifuges.

Israel has frequently threatened to attack Iran’s nuclear sites.
