Sydney teen stabbed at party

A Sydney teenager is in a critical condition with stab wounds after being attacked by gatecrashers at a party in Five Dock Sydney on the weekend.

What was meant to be an innocent gathering for a 14-year-old girl’s birthday turned violent when gatecrashers arrived, injuring two young men.

The 17-year-old victim is in a critical but stable condition after being stabbed multiple times.

The other injured teenager was released from hospital on Saturday after sustaining head injuries.

Police said they faced chaotic scenes when they arrived on Friday night, according to a Sky News report.

Residents reported hearing bottles smashing and people screaming in the usually quiet suburban street.

After making enquiries, police attended a nearby hospital and arrested a 16-year-old who was being treated for head injuries.

Burwood police Inspector Michael Penfold warned parents who were planning a party for their children.

‘One of the main issues is make sure only invited guests attend and adequate security provisions beforehand,’ he said.
