This week, some pandas made their way back to China and a brazen bear stole food from a family’s front door, only to then come back when it was thirsty.

Plus, a woman’s new tattoo has everyone talking.

Panda diplomacy

Two giant pandas,  Tian Tian, Mei Xiang and their 3-year-old cub, Xiao Qi Ji have returned to China.

Tian Tian and Mei Xiang had been living in the US for decades and were essentially on loan from China.

Pandas the Beijing government permits to live abroad have been useful tools in cementing relationships with favoured nations – panda diplomacy, they call it..

Speaking to the New York Times, conservation biologist at the Smithsonian National Zoo, Melissa Songer, said it was time for the pandas to return to China.

“I don’t want to have a panda pass away outside of China,” she said.

There are over 60 pandas around the world that are essentially on exchange, and Australia has two in Adelaide.

Wang Wang and Fu Ni have been living Down Under since 2009, when Australia and China’s relationship was strong.

Their loan is set to expire in 2024, however, official discussions on extending the loan will commence soon.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was recently in China and on that trip he said he hopes pandas will maintain a presence in Australia.

Thieving bear

A black bear from Florida stole around $70 worth of Taco Bell food from a front porch.

Footage captured the bear just walking up to the door and grabbing the food and then the residents come out looking very confused.

But it wasn’t just the food … the bear came back for the soft drinks a few minutes later.

Uber did reimburse the family for their stolen food, local media reported.

Forehead tattoo debate

This week, a woman named Ana made a video about getting her boyfriend’s name tattooed on her forehead.

In the initial video, she is all smiles when the stencil is being put on and then she’s wincing as the artist starts tattooing her.

But people are very sceptical about the face tattoo, with many thinking it is fake.

Over the past few days, Ana has made several follow-up videos talking about the tattoo, saying she essentially wanted to express her love for her boyfriend.

If she and Kevin do break up, well she jokes she will just have to find another Kevin.

She continually insisted the tattoo is real and she is in love with both it and Kevin.

Regardless, if the tattoo is real and Ana loves it, good for her.

If it’s fake and she just wanted to get eyeballs on her videos, then good for her too.

Impromptu plane gig

These musicians were stuck on a delayed plane so they decided to treat passengers to a jam session.

The flight was delayed in Frankfurt, reportedly due to weather conditions.

While everyone onboard seemed to be enjoying the music and making the most of a bad situation, not everyone on social media was impressed.

A few people noted that flying can be pretty stressful for some, so in some cases, a surprise gig isn’t ideal.

I could not think of anything worse than having to listen to this. People are annoyed and stressed as it is… Imagine some kids also with sensory issues on board…” someone remarked on Twitter.
