WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

The secrecy surrounding cult TV show Game of Thrones’ seventh season is out the window after two fan favourites were spotted together on the same set.

For six seasons Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow have been separated by a song of ice and fire – but newly released pictures suggest they will be united at last.

Fan site Winter is Coming shared snaps of actors Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington on the set of the highly-anticipated new season.

The long-lens shots show the King in the North far from his regular snow-covered haunts alongside the Mother of Dragons, filming on the islet of Gaztelugatxe, off the coast of Spain.

Most of the southern cities of the fictional Westeros, including King’s Landing – previously filmed in Croatia – have been shifted to Spain since season six.

Initial reports suggest The Crownlands as the point of this pivotal meeting.

Filming in Spain was originally allocated for the introduction of Dorne in season five, the southernmost city of the Seven Kingdoms.

GoT leaks

Spanish news site El Correo confirmed the rumours with photos showing Jon Snow with his advisor Davos Seaworth aka Ser Davos (Liam Cunningham).

Two Dothraki warriors – who accompany their Khaleesi and white-haired queen – are pictured in the background.

Another photo captured Dany’s translator and right-hand woman Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) with the northern king.

Why the meeting is occurring, however, is yet to be answered.

It’s long been rumoured Jon and Dany will fall in love – despite the season six bombshell that the pair are related.

It was revealed in last season’s finale that Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen share the same bloodline, when Jon revealed as the son of Rhaegar Targareyn and Lynna Stark – making Dany his aunt.

Fans know this is no problem given the Targaryens’ tendencies to marry their own, but whether the alliance results in love is yet to be seen.

What is expected is a war to claim Queen Cersei Lannister’s Iron Throne and an inevitable battle against the White Walkers.

GoT leaks

A number of leaks from the Game of Thrones set have appeared throughout the internet since filming for season seven began in September.

The vast and open locations have given canny photographers a cheeky leg-up at getting a glimpse of the untold narrative.

Gendry Baratheon – the unacknowledged bastard son of King Robert Baratheon – will return after disappearing from the storyline in season three.

Actor Joe Dempsie was spotted filming with characters Ser Davos and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), and appears to be bearing his father’s weapon, the Baratheon Warhammer.

If it’s true, it’s the same weapon King Robert used to kill Prince Rhaegar – Dany’s oldest brother.

It’s believed the group had set sail from Dragonstone, adjacent to The Crownlands.

The Daily Mail late last month captured Jon Snow, Ser Davos, Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and Podrick Payne (Daniel Portman) together in northern Ireland preparing for a scene.

Expect to see the formidable group and a new red-headed character – originally believed to be Sansa Stark’s (Sophie Turner) stunt double – to be in sync before Jon rides south to join Dany.

We’ll know for sure when Game of Thrones season seven premieres in June 2017.
