Kristen Stewart puts in a sultry performance in the latest Rolling Stones video clip.

The Rolling Stones have released their first album in eleven years, and while it is earning some glowing reviews, they are temporarily taking a backseat to the band’s latest music video, featuring Hollywood star Kristen Stewart.

Stewart, star of the Twilight series and more recently such films as Cafe Society and Personal Shopper, takes a prowling walk on the wild side in the clip for the Stones’ track Ride ’Em On Down, a cover of Eddie Taylor’s 1955 blues hit.

She spends most of her video joy riding in a blue vintage Mustang GT around abandoned streets and waterways in Los Angeles, but also sets pulses racing by licking on a lollipop and stopping for a sultry solo dance party at a petrol station.

Her provocative performance is drawing as much attention on social media as the music from arguably the greatest rock and roll band the world has ever known.

The Stones’ latest album, Blue and Lonesome, is a return to their roots. It is the band’s first pure blues record and the first all-cover songs studio release since the self-titled 1964 EP The Rolling Stones.

The 12 blues covers were recorded last December over a lightning three-day break between tours, with the help of co-producer Don Was at British Grove Studios in the London suburb of Richmond, just down the road apiece from the Crawdaddy Club, where the Stones played a life-changing 1963 residency.

“I didn’t even have time to change my guitar,” Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood told Rolling Stone magazine.

“They were coming so thick and fast. It was like, ‘OK, let’s do it – this one, that one.’ Some of the harder riffs were making my fingers bleed, and Mick (Jagger) was going, ‘Come, let’s do it again, then!’

“And we’ll go, ‘Hang on! My fingers!’ It was real hard work, but I love it.”
