Six months after her backyard wedding to Snapchat billionaire Evan Spiegel, model Miranda Kerr is expecting their first child together.

Kerr, 34, is already a mother to son Flynn, 6, who she shares with her ex-husband, actor Orlando Bloom, 40.

“Miranda, Evan and Flynn are looking forward to welcoming the newest member of their family,” her rep said in a statement.

Wearing a custom Dior gown, Kerr wed Mr Spiegel, 27, in a 20-minute ceremony at their Los Angeles home in May after a ten-month engagement.

In February, asked if she planned to have more children, she told the Times, “Not yet. Not until after we get married. My partner is very traditional.

“We can’t … I mean we’re just … waiting.”

The subject was on Kerr’s mind though, and Flynn was a driving force, she told Stellar magazine in 2016.

“I am very content with just having one [child], but I am definitely open to the possibility of having more,” she said.

“[Flynn] will often say, ‘My friends have brothers or sisters, will I have a brother or sister one day?’ I say, ‘Maybe, honey.'”

During her first pregnancy, kundalini yoga fan Kerr (“Joy is my favourite word”) included that practice in her pre-natal routine,  ate “really healthily” and did “resistance training and some good squats, sit-ups and all that stuff,” she said.

Talking to actress Gwyneth Paltrow in June at a California panel event, Kerr said that becoming a mother first time around made her reprioritize her life and career.

“Before my son was born, I was working six days a week and [on] average traveling for work [to] three different countries a week,” she said.

“The only holiday I would take is Christmas. I thought that was normal.

“Now that I have my son, I made a conscious choice to make sure that I’m there for my son and prioritize the time that I spend with him.”

As for life as a newlywed, Kerr has said she dials things back at home with Spiegel.

“At work, I’m like, ‘We need to do this!’ and, ‘This needs to happen!’” she told Net-a-Porter’s digital magazine The Edit in September.

“But at home, I slip into my feminine and empower Evan to be in his masculine.”

She agreed with Paltrow that her wedding signalled “the beginning of something” and said she and Spiegel – who started dating four years ago – are a good match.

“We still have so much to learn from each other, and we do every day,”  she said.

“We see things from a different perspective, and we bring that to the table. Together, we’re so much stronger. It’s really good to have that partnership.”
