We last saw her soaring above a stadium at the 2000 Olympic Opening Ceremony, and now Nikki Webster is up in the air once again for a comeback performance 17 years after her memorable debut.

A video of the now-29-year-old Webster performing her 2001 hit single Strawberry Kisses atop the Sydney Harbour Bridge has gone viral on social media, with many commenting she hasn’t aged a day.

Webster, now married with a child and the owner of her own dance school, took part in the stunt to promote the new tourism initiative, Bridge Climb Karaoke.

The former pop idol teamed up with Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac to perform for hosts David Koch and Samantha Armytage who were back in the studio.

Mac then shared the video to his Facebook page, where it received more than 750,000 views.

“Just a standard Monday morning … performing Strawberry Kisses 2017 with NIKKI WEBSTER on top of The Harbour Bridge. Legit. Stick a fork in me, I’m done,” Mac said of the throwback moment.

Webster’s performance was pitch-perfect and earned widespread praise on social media from people enjoying the trip down memory lane.

“She actually sounds amazing,” one Facebook user commented.

“The sound of childhood,” another said.

Strawberry Kisses was a bona fide hit when it was released 16 years ago, peaking at number two on the ARIA charts and later going platinum.

Mac told News.com.au he was keen to see the hit track be re-released.

“I am 100 per cent serious about this and it needs to claim its rightful spot in next year’s Hottest 100,” he said.

Webster hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a remix, with her official Instagram account sharing the video with the caption: “Do you think Nikki should do a new mix of strawberry kisses?”

Unsurprisingly, the overwhelming answer was, ‘YES’.
