Lindy Klim, the former wife of Australian swimming star Michael Klim, has hit back at his claims he found out about her engagement through social media.

The creative director and the Olympic gold medallist split earlier this year after 10 years and three children together.

Lindy is now living in Bali with her fiance, Adam Ellis.

“The funny thing is, is that I’m not quite sure how he [Michael] found out about our engagement on Instagram because it wasn’t on Instagram or social media,” Lindy told news.com.au.

“So I’m not quite sure what he was talking about there, which is very interesting. Also the fact that I hadn’t even confirmed anything either.”

Lindy was referring to an interview Michael gave earlier this month on the Kyle and Jackie O show.

“I found out through Instagram. Everyone’s cruising, moving along,” Michael said of his former wife’s engagement.

However, Lindy said said she didn’t feel the need to tell Michael about her new relationship.

“I don’t really know why he is saying these things, but in regards to telling your ex about an engagement I think it’s totally up to the person,” she said.

“There are definitely things he didn’t tell me about, so I don’t feel like I need to tell him what I’m doing in my life anymore.

“It really depends on the individual and what relationship you have with them.”

Michael is now dating fashion designer Desiree Deravi. He and Lindy are still bound by business — they continue to work for Milk & Co, the skincare company they founded.
