The singer stopped to assist the man before he was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating the circumstances.

This incident
comes one week after Stevens was part of a headline-generating boozy lunch with colourful businessman John Singleton, who was fined for the ruckus.

Meanwhile, in April, Stevens had assault charges against him dropped after a domestic incident involving ex-fiance Jodhi Meares.

The musician said he was devastated after the incident.

“I hope the gentleman is OK, police and paramedics have assured me he is,” Stevens told Channel Nine in a statement.

“It was just an accident. I can’t take a trick right now.

“I’m devastated.”
