Reports are claiming Wendi Deng has moved on from Rupert Murdoch and right into the arms of Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Magazine US Weekly claimed 44-year-old mother of two Deng, who divorced Murdoch in 2013, is dating the Russian leader.

According to the magazine, rumours of the coupling have been floating around since Deng’s divorce was finalised in 2013 and Putin’s in 2014.

Since then, Putin has also been linked Russian gymnast Alina Kabaeva – who he apparently had a child with – although the Kremlin has repeatedly denied the claims.

But US Weekly claimed the pair’s relationship may be “serious”, but have no further evidence of the pairing other than gossip rumblings and the fact Deng was spotted boarding Russian billionaire and close friend of Putin’s Roman Abramovich’s yacht this week.

The unconfirmed story has also been picked up by Vanity Fair and Fairfax Media.

During the breakdown of her marriage to the media mogul, Deng was accused of propositioning the former British prime minister Tony Blair, something Murdoch as denied.

Murdoch himself, now 82, is currently enjoying being a newlywed (for the third time) with new wife Jerry Hall, who he married in London in March.

“Feel like the luckiest and happiest man in the world,” Tweeted the billionaire after the small ceremony.

The pair honeymooned in France.
