One of the world’s biggest names and most recognisable faces, Scarlett Johansson, snuck through Sydney Airport mostly unnoticed over the Easter long weekend.

The actress, best known for her role as Black Widow in the Avengers franchise, entered Australia as quickly as she departed, stopping over from New Zealand in transit back to the US, news.com.au reported.

With her 17-month-old daughter Rose fixed to her chest, Esquire magazine’s ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’ – Johansson has earned the accolade not once, but twice – was barely recognisable, hidden behind a pair of sizeable spectacles and a New York Yankees baseball cap.

The BAFTA award winner, with daughter, boarding pass and a large suitcase in tow, escaped the attention of fellow travellers as she sauntered through Sydney’s international airport.

The 31-year-old and her husband Romain Dauriac were stationed in Seatoun Heights, a seaside suburb in Wellington, for the past month having filmed science fiction movie Ghost in the Shell.

The Japanese franchise, which adapts what was originally released as a manga, will see Johansson as a cyborg superhero in the 2017 flick.

Johansson has a busy schedule ahead, with the highly anticipated release of The Jungle Book in April and later in the year Captain America: Civil War, the latest blockbuster in the Avengers saga.
