Gwyneth Paltrow: ‘Chris Martin is like a brother now’

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin continue their unconventional life as a divorced couple.

Speaking in an interview with Glamour Magazine this week, Paltrow explained her and the Coldplay frontman’s relationship continues to be more than amicable, and often involves sleepovers.

“Last night he got in at midnight and slept here so he could surprise the kids in the morning, we could all have breakfast, and he could take them to school,” she said.

Paltrow described Martin, her husband of 11 years and father of her two children, as more like “a brother” since their separation.

“So … we’re not living together, but he’s more than welcome to be with us whenever he wants,” she said.

“And vice versa: I sleep in his house in Malibu a lot with the kids. We’ll have a weekend all together; holidays, we’re together.

“We’re still very much a family, even though we don’t have a romantic relationship.”

Paltrow and Martin made headlines in 2014 when they publicly announced their decision to ‘consciously uncouple’ on Paltrow’s lifestyle website, Goop.

At the time, the phrase drew disdain from media outlets for being pretentious, but it has since spawned a popular book and countless articles on the theory of splitting un-acrimoniously.

In the interview, Paltrow also discussed the criticism she receives for Goop, which is often perceived as a platform for flogging unrealistically overpriced clothing and accessories.

“Sometimes I’ll get annoyed if someone’s like, ‘Goop is so expensive.’ I’m like, ‘Have you looked at the website?’ she said.

“Have you seen the range of price points? ‘Cause we sell things that are $8.

“If you want to f**k with me, bring your A-game. At least have all your information.”
