Jessica Mauboy has reportedly fired her stylist, after a “miscommunication” with the styling team prevented her appearing at the Melbourne Cup in early November.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Mauboy recently fired long-time stylist and friend, Mikey Ayoubi, due to the failed show.

Mauboy was scheduled to sing the national anthem, before a heated argument between her styling team and representatives from Victoria Racing Club caused her to have a panic attack.
The argument began after VRC objected to the Dolce and Gabbana boots Mauboy planned to wear on-stage, as they were exclusively stocked by David Jones, a direct competitor to major Cup sponsor, Myer.
Mauboy described the attack as “the scariest moment ever”, just four minutes before she was scheduled to perform.
“I should have been prepared to just walk on stage and do my job, the job I love and they didn’t allow me to do that,” she told The Daily Telegraph earlier this month.
The New Daily has contacted Ayoubi and representatives for Mauboy for comment.
