Rebel Wilson slams the Kardashian family

Popular Australian export Rebel Wilson has slammed the Kardashian family, revealing she refused to present an award with them at the MTV VMA Awards.

Speaking to KIIS FM radio, Wilson said she was asked to share a stage with the two youngest Kardashians, Kylie and Kendall, but declined.

“It’s not that I hate any of them individually, but it’s just that everything they stand for is against everything I stand for,” Wilson told the hosts.

“And they’re not famous for talent. I worked really hard to get where I’ve gotten to.”

Wilson then (accurately) raised the point that Kim Kardashian first shot to fame after a sex tape she made with her ex-husband was leaked online.

“They aren’t really about talent,” she said.

“I mean, how Kim Kardashian got famous from the sex tape, and I just went to acting school and worked really hard.”

Since landing their own reality TV show on the E! Network in 2007, the three Kardashian daughters and, more recently, the two Jenner daughters have expanded into modelling, brand endorsements, fashion lines and media appearances.

In comparison, respected comedian and writer Rebel Wilson first burst onto the scene in the Hollywood hit Bridesmaids, and has since started in the popular Pitch Perfect films.

Before moving into acting full time, Wilson finished a law degree at the University of New South Wales.
