In case you forgot – because you were caught up in the hype of his US Presidential pledge or high-fashion exploits – Kanye West is a musician.
On Tuesday, to remind us all, West posted two previously unheard tracks to his Soundcloud account.
• Aussie band barred from US gig for ‘offensive’ name
• New York Comic Con: the best cosplay costumes
• This is the most sickening movie in cinemas
One is a reworking of his 808’s and Heartbreaks hit ‘Say You Will’ and the other is his own version of a track he produced for The Weeknd titled ‘Tell Your Friends’ , but called ‘When I See It’ by West.
On the new version of ‘Say You Will’, West is joined by New York composer and musician Caroline Shaw.
While it isn’t the brand new follow-up album to 2012’s Yeezus that everyone is craving, it is something from the seminal rap star.
West has previously stated his new album would be called Swish, but also that he wasn’t very close to finishing it.
So while we wait, this is the best there is – apart from new track “All Day” [featuring Paul McCartney], seen at the 2015 BRIT Awards and released soon after.
He also debuted the dance heavy “Fade” at a New York Fashion Week show last month, however only crowd recordings exist of that song.
