Paul Walker’s daughter ‘shares a piece’ of him

Paul Walker’s daughter has launched a charity in his name, on what would have been his 42nd birthday.

Meadow Walker, the 16-year-old daughter of the late the Fast and the Furious actor killed in a car crash two years ago, said she started The Paul Walker Foundation to “share a piece of him with the world”.

Meadow Walker was in awe of her late father.

In a post on Instagram, Ms Walker reflected on her father and his passions.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my father.”

“His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill,” she wrote.

By launching the foundation she wrote that she “[could not] think of a better way to celebrate my father”.

The foundation plans to honour Walker’s passion for the ocean by providing grants and scholarships to selected students, and research pursuing marine science educations or working on advancements in the field.

Walker was a passenger in a Porche when it lost control and crashed in Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles, killing both occupants in December 2013.

A post by the actor’s team on Facebook said he had been attending an event for his charity to raise money for people affected by Typhoon Haiyan, which had hit the Philippines a month earlier.

He was best known for his hit roles in the Fast and the Furious movie franchise.

This year, rapper Wil Khalifa and singer Charlie Puth recorded a tribute song for Paul Walker titled See You Again.

The single was used in the Fast and Furious 7 soundtrack and became the quickest-selling single of 2015.
