George Clooney gushes about wife Amal

Once an incorrigible bachelor, George Clooney seems to have settled into married life quite nicely.

On the promotional trail for his new movie Tomorrowland, the actor shared some touching insights into his relationship with his wife Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin).

“She’s an amazing human being,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

When asked why he fell in love with the 37-year-old human rights lawyer, Clooney responded, “There’s a number of reasons why”.

“She’s caring. And she also happens to be one of the smartest people I’ve ever met. And she’s got a great sense of humor.”

The 54-year-old also praised his wife’s commitment to fashion, even when “she’s got 11 cases she’s working on”.

“She was teaching at Columbia, and she’s still like, ‘I want to wear that dress'” he joked.

In a separate interview with People magazine, the star also confessed getting married “”changed everything” for him.

“All I know is that it sort of changed everything in terms of what I thought my future – my personal future – was going to be,” he said.

“I wasn’t always completely optimistic about how it was going to work out personally for me. But now I am.”

However, the marriage isn’t all sunshine and smiles, with Clooney admitting his wife takes issue with one fairly important part of his life.

“I watch sports and it kills her because I got her into March Madness a little,” he said, referring to the American men’s college basketball tournament.

“She got into that, but it was enough, so the next week was the Masters, and I’m watching that and she goes, ‘So every weekend we’re gonna be watching a sporting event.’

“I’m like, ‘Actually, that’s how it works.’”
