In a lawsuit filed against her mother Nuala, the 29-year-old said her mother and manager pocketed a large chunk of her daughter’s salary from a film called The Hoarder.

According to TMZ, Nuala lied to her daughter about the salary she would receive for the film, taking the difference for herself along with a 10 per cent “management fee”.

Worse, the actress claimed her mother effectively stole her daughter’s home, using paperwork to claim co-ownership of the eight bedroom, 11 bathroom mansion before kicking Mischa out completely.

She also claimed her mother used her daughter’s fame to generate profit through a handbag line and London boutique – keeping all the profits for herself.

According to the actress, her parents haven’t held a job in years, preferring instead to “sit back expecting their daughter’s hard work and dedication to her craft to support their lifestyle”.

Barton rose to fame age the age of 17, starring on hit American drama The OC.

At the height of its popularity, Barton was reportedly pocketing a five-figure sum per episode.
