Margot Robbie says she’ll be keeping her clothes on after last year’s sex bomb role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.

While movie studios and producers inundated the 24-year-old Queenslander with vixen roles following her jaw-dropping performance, Robbie has strategically gone the other way.

“Once people see you pulling off one role they think you’re a safe bet to do a similar role,” Robbie told AAP at the Australians in Film awards in Santa Monica on Sunday.

In the next year the former Neighbours star will be seen opposite Michelle Williams in the romantic war drama Suite Francais, the sci-fi Z for Zachariah with Chris Pine and the Will Smith romantic comedy Focus.

In 2016 she will be seen as Jane Porter in Tarzan.

Robbie also confirmed she may star opposite Tina Fey in The Taliban Shuffle, based on the 2011 memoir by journalist Kim Barker about her experiences reporting in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

“It would be a dream to work with Tina,” Robbie said.

“I’m a big fan.”

Robbie, along with another young Queensland actor, 25-year-old former Home and Away star Brenton Thwaites, received Breakthrough Awards at the AiF ceremony.

Thwaites starred with Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges in Australian director Phillip Noyce’s The Giver, opposite Angelina Jolie in Maleficient and was cast in the upcoming Alex Proyas, Sydney-shot fantasy film Gods of Egypt.
