The Bachelor: highlights from Blake’s love letter

The Bachelor‘s Blake Garvey has spoken to Women’s Day, revealing that he chose the wrong girl in the show’s finale and has since struck up a relationship with eliminated contestant Louise Pillidge.

In the exclusive article, Pillidge speaks about how Garvey won her heart by sending a five page love letter…to her father.

“Dad gave me the letter a few days before the finale aired,” Pillidge explained of the couple’s reunion.

“Blake had contacted him and asked if he’d pass it on.”

Thankfully, the magazine managed to obtain an excerpt from the sweeping letter, in which Garvey shares his feelings for her.

Here are the highlights:

• “If you are reading this letter, then I must have decided it was right to let you know how I am feeling.”

• “As dangerous as this is to admit, I feel I need to admit it – I made a mistake.”

• “I don’t want to live a lie.”

• “I need to be true to myself and who I am as a person.”

• “You have never ceased to inspire me, even in your absence.”

• “Your sincerity, your energy, your beautiful soul, made me feel as though we were always alone together, when we were anything but.”

• “Louise, you have my heart, you share my soul and in my mind you are the one for me.”

The letter is signed “forever yours, Blake”.

Pillidge described the love note as “one of the most overwhelming things I had ever experienced”.

“It took me a while to process … I called him and told him I got it and I wanted to talk. I know it took courage to write but I was still nervous and scared – I’d already been hurt so much.”

Garvey said the aftermath of the breakup scandal had been difficult to deal with and he feels the public’s reaction was out of proportion.

“Mum has received threats on the internet saying she should be punished for bringing up a boy like me,” he said in the interview.

“I ended a relationship after weeks not years. Of course I feel bad and I am sorry, but it wasn’t that long and I couldn’t keep living a lie.”
