Iggy Azalea raps her own label over old images

Rapper Iggy Azalea took to Twitter on Thursday to deliver a rant about the way her Australian record label has dealt with her image.

The 24-year-old claims the label gave Cosmopolitan and Maxim magazines permission to use outdated photos.

“Im going to publicly say something to the australian division of my record label right now because my message seems to be ignored privately (sic),” Iggy said.

The singer had reportedly attempted to talk to her record label to express her concerns.

These were seemingly not addressed, so the star blasted the message to her 2.82 million Twitter followers.

“stop giving permission on my behalf for magazines to purchase images of me that have already been printed in major publications for covers,” Iggy pleaded.

“australian label, i love you guys but you allowed my image to be sold to cosmo Aus when i told you i would prefer for that not to happen.

“and now this morning i see you’ve allowed maxim australia to buy an image from a 2011 complex mag shoot and put it on the cover (sic).”

But the Black Widow hitmaker was added a dose of constructive criticism to the equation.

She thought it was “awesome” a magazine would be interested in having her on its cover but that it had been done the wrong way.

“the australian label clearly aren’t respecting my wishes. a magazine cover deserves an accompanying photoshoot not a reused image,” Iggy elaborated, before extending a note to the magazine in question.

“maxim australia, thanks for the love and I’m sorry no one asked me. i would have love to have given an interview & done a shoot with u guys.”

This is not her only feisty Twitter engagement of late.

Azalea spent the earlier part of this week feuding with Snoop Dogg.

After back and forth messaging, the veteran rapper apologised and Iggy graciously accepted, saying: “I appreciate the apology @snoopdogg.”
